Are the ships handicapped accessible?

The tall ships are not equipped for handicapped access, however the piers will be handicapped accessible.

What is the best viewing location for those with mobility issues/wheelchairs?

Yes – the event will have porta-johns that can accommodate wheelchairs.

Is there Handicapped Parking available?

Every Premium Parking lot has several spots reserved for people with the designated ADA placard.

Can I bring a drone?

Drones are never allowed during Tall Ships® New Orleans 2018 and NOLA Navy Week 2018.  Failure to comply is punishable by law.

Are pets allowed at Tall Ships® New Orleans 2018 and NOLA Navy Week 2018?

Be kind to your pets and please leave them home.  Pets are not allowed at the events (excluding certified service animals).

Can I bring my own food and beverage into the event grounds?

No, outside food and beverage are not permitted.

Will there be food and beverage available for purchase at Woldenberg Park?

Yes, there will be food and beverage available for purchase in Woldenberg Park.

Is there a cost to board the ships?

There is no cost to board and view the Tall Ships or the Navy ships during visiting hours. You might want to consider a Fastpass VIP ticket to take you to the front of the line.

Where will the ships be berthed?

The ships will stretch along the Mississippi River beginning in the Warehouse District at the Thalia Street Wharf down to the end of the French Quarter at the Governor Nicholls Street Wharf. For more details about each ships location, please consult the berthing map.

Will there be restrooms available at Woldenberg Park?

Yes – the event will have additional porta-johns.

How should members of the Media apply for Press Credentials?

Please fill out the Press Credential Form.

How many ships are coming?

There will be 5- 7 tall ships on the river, 3 on Lake Pontchartrain, and 4-5 Navy ships participating in Tall Ships® New Orleans 2018 and NOLA Navy Week 2018. Visit the participating ships page for more information.

Where can I buy event merchandise?

Merchandise can be purchased at locations at Woldenberg Park.

Where is the Lost & Found located?

Tall Ships® New Orleans 2018 and NOLA Navy Week 2018 are not responsible for lost items.

Will there be fireworks?

Yes!  At 8pm on Sunday, April 22. Best viewing

Can I bring a stroller?

Strollers are allowed on the piers and event sites. Strollers are not allowed on the ships, but there will be space on the piers for strollers next to ship gangways.  Placement of strollers is based on the honor system.  There is no specific parking area for strollers

Will there be food and beverage available for purchase at the Grandstands?

Yes, there will be food and beverage available for purchase in Woldenberg Park.

Will Ship Crew be on board the ships during viewing hours?

There will be an opportunity to interact with crew members during your visit aboard the ships.

What if it rains?

The event is rain or shine. Please prepare for the weather by bringing sunscreen, rain jackets and/or umbrellas. There will be a lot of walking involved, so comfortable, flat shoes are recommended. Please see the list of prohibited items to ensure you are allowed access with your belongings. There will not be a storage area for those items not allowed.

Boarding times for the tall ships at Woldenberg Park are:

Saturday, April 21| 10:00am – 5:00pm
Sunday, April 22| 10:00pm– 5:00pm

Viewing hours at Woldenberg Park are:

Friday, April 20 | 5:00pm – 8pm

Saturday, April 21| closed for a private function
Sunday, April 22| 5pm – 8pm

Hours may vary at each Captain’s discretion.

What is the best method to get to the Tall Ships® New Orleans 2018 and NOLA Navy Week events?

We encourage guests attending the event to drive into the city. There will be limited parking and heavy traffic throughout the weekend.

Where is the best downtown parking?

When do the tall ships arrive?

Thursday, April 19, 2018 between 2:30pm – 5pm.

Will there be restriction for private boats on the river on arrival day?

Yes – restrictions and specifications will be posted.

What are the Prohibited and Allowed Items during Tall Ships® New Orleans 2018?

Due to federal, state, and city public safety plans, there are a number of items that are strictly prohibited. Please view the Prohibited Items Page for more information.

Are cameras and video recorders allowed?

Yes.

Will there be bag storage?

There is absolutely no bag storage at any location. Please pay close attention to the Prohibited Items list as there are no exceptions. Patrons must comply or they will not be granted access to the viewing areas. There will not be a discard area for those items not allowed.

What time will the security check points be open?

Screening areas will be open at 12:00pm on April 19 and during open pier and park hours throughout the event.

Are you allowed to re-enter after going through a security check point?

Patrons are allowed to leave the secured area, however, must repeat the screening process each time they re-enter.

Will there be security screenings to get onto the ships?

Yes, there will be stadium style security screenings to gain access to event spaces.
